The Gold Standard
When you live at 850 Lake Shore Drive, you’re inheriting a legacy of excellence designed to embolden lives and make each day just a little more special.
A Legacy of Luxury
Opened in 1927 and designed by legendary Chicago architect Jarvis Hunt, 850 North Lake Shore Drive is a historically prominent 19 story Beaux-Arts style tower along the shores of Lake Michigan. This stunning landmark originally housed the Lakeshore Athletic Club and boasted a beautiful marble-clad lobby, with ornamented bronze chandeliers and gilded plasterwork. Additionally, the building contained stunning ballrooms, a reading room, and a pool room with nautical-themed polychromatic enamel tiles found along the walls and floors. In 1928, the club received national attention when it hosted the swimming trials for the 1928 Olympic games.
Reinvigorated For You
In the early 2000s, Integrated Development Group along side Chicago Architecture firm Booth Hansen embarked on a multi-year renovation project to restore and reinvigorate the historic lakeside tower. Today, the history and grandeur of 850 Lake Shore Drive lives on as spectacular apartment homes on Chicago’s gold coast.
"At 850 Lake Shore, residents live at the threshold of history and modernity; steps away from the rich landscape of Lake Michigan and the Magnificent Mile."
