Savory Meets Sweet at Cone Gourmet Ice Cream
Sean McGuide, the owner of Chicago’s Cone Gourmet Ice Cream, has loved ice cream all his life, which is one reason that he owns and operates his own scoop shop today. Regulars at this Chicago creamery note that it serves traditional scoops, but that this place’s true specialty is its European-style soft serve. If it’s your first visit to Cone Gourmet, you might want to opt for one of its signature menu options, like the "Shamrock," which is soft serve covered with crunchy Lucky Charms cereal (regulars say the combination of creamy and crunchy simply can’t be beat, especially as the cereal begins to absorb the melting ice cream).
You’ll also find dipped cones (chocolate or cherry) as well as house-made milkshakes and sundaes (the "spud" sundae tops your ice cream with Crunch bar crumbles, hot caramel, and salt n’ vinegar chips). All ice cream is available for take-out or no-contact delivery.
