The Lakefront Trail is, in total an 18-mile path separated into a bike trail and pedestrian trail. Countless Chicagoans head here to train for an upcoming race, ride their bicycles, or just take a leisurely walk. Many people use it for commuting to and from work, as well. But, its use for fun and fitness remains a top factor in the Trail’s popularity. Lace up your sneakers, break out your bike, and hit the trail—and be sure to check the website for updated hours and guidelines before you head out.
Worried about a chance of rain in the forecast or the need for a bathroom break? The Lake Shore Fieldhouse is available from 9 am to 5 pm, just in case. More concerned you’ll get hungry?
