Register Now for the Chicago Polar Plunge on Jan. 25
If you see hordes of people running into Lake Michigan at noon on Saturday, Jan. 25, that can only mean one thing: it’s time for the Chicago Polar Plunge! This annual event, which returns for its 19th year in 2020, invites locals and out-of-towners alike to participate in the zany tradition of plunging into Lake Michigan’s icy-cold waters in the middle of winter, but it’s all in good fun—and for a good cause: Proceeds support the event’s mission of helping local Midwestern families in need.
Want to get in on the action? Register via the event’s website for $30, then show up at Oak Street Beach no later than 11 a.m. on Jan. 25. Pull on a pair of shoes (mandatory to participate), then get ready to dash into the water when the clock strikes twelve. Afterward, join your fellow do-gooders for an afterparty at Moe’s Cantina!
